Wishlist: Bentley speakers, Moncler jacket & more

From summer shorts to a Scandi getaway, this is what we want this week…

Wingtip brogue leather ankle boots by Ted Baker

Sneaker drops may come and go, but a pair of sturdy leather boots will forever remain stylish. Take this offering by Ted Baker, for example. Expertly crafted with textured panels and a lace fastening, this classic-style footwear will serve you well, whether you’re in the office, restaurant or strolling through the countryside. To round things off, why not don them with some rolled up denim and a harrington jacket?

Panarea shorts by Luca Faloni

If you’re the type of organised gent who likes to get a head start on curating the ultimate summer wardrobe, then we may have the thing for you. Combining Italian heritage with artisanal craftsmanship, the Panarea shorts by Luca Faloni will be your go-to menswear item in the upcoming warmer months.

Crafted from a linen-cotton blend to help wick away any moisture, this summer must-have will keep you cool from beach to bar, and is also distinguished by a tinto capo (dyed process) design which gives off a light-washed and worn-in look. Better still, if you find that you’ve overindulged during your getaway (we don’t blame you), you’ll be pleased to know that the waist is adjustable, and for those that like to wear things a bit higher, the length can be easily rolled up. For a full sprezzatura look, wear with a linen shirt and classic tortoiseshell wayfarers.

20:20 Triple Cabinet

Mid-century style doesn’t seem to be going anywhere in 2018, which comes as welcome news for those looking to purchase some permanent furniture pieces, and if you fall into that demographic, then The James Design workshop is the place to check out.

Each product from its new 20:20 range of cabinets is expertly crafted and emphasises traditional methods of furniture making. This sideboard in solid European oak, with its classic Nordic look, smooth edges, pastel colours and considered details, is no exception. Hand made to order and available in three sizes and five colourways, it’s a basic way to elevate your abode to new style heights.

Baies candle by Diptyque

Although we’ll never encourage the term ‘mandle’, we can’t deny the booming wealth of masculine candles on the market today, and the Baies by Paris-based luxury house Diptyque is one of the best we’ve tested. In order to unleash the perfect olfactory experience, this item is made from a blend of eight to nine first-class waxes that have been finely amalgamated; then only the finest cotton braid wick is used (the greater the diameter, the hotter it burns); and finally, it’s constructed by hand and placed in a heated glass to protect the scent.

Dispersing a fragrance that contains blackcurrant leaves and Bulgarian rose, this is the ideal item to have whenever you need a calming quality within your workspace.

Shell down zip-up by Moncler

With the worst of winter coming to a close, it’s now possible that a parka may be too overwhelming to wear, while an overshirt may not be substantial enough to keep you warm. To navigate yourself around this sartorial dilemma, try something insulating yet lightweight. This thin and quilted down jacket with cotton-blend sleeves by Moncler should do the trick. Perfect to wear on the slopes, off piste or in the city, this is an essential for the transitional period.

Colonia Nomade set by Acqua Di Parma

For the globe-trotting businessman, jet-setting can often be more of a drudgery than a pleasure. Yet, if you slip this kit into your hold bag, you may think twice. Complete with a trio of iconic Colonia products from the Acqua Di Parma range – an aftershave balm, deodorant spray and bath and shower gel – and packaged inside a compact and convenient travel pouch, the Nomade set will be your grooming saviour when you’re after a fix-up on-the-go.

A stay at Mökki Santara House

Located in the heart of Karelia and surrounded by Finnish forests, Mökki Santara is the place to visit when you’re in need of a late winter getaway. Sitting on a platform and sat right by the Santara lake, this charming cottage is comprised of two elements – a main house and a wooden sauna with panoramic views, both of which are connected by a terrace. Inside this idyllic Scandi abode you’ll also find two double beds, wood stoves, heaters and a kitchen that will serve your every culinary need. The lakeside deck also offers the chance for swimming and fishing.

Mu-so wireless speaker systems by Naim Audio and Bentley

Combining Naim’s audio and design expertise with a century’s worth of Bentley heritage, these audio systems (which are available in either the Mu-so or the Mu-so Qb) are as premium as any other speaker you’ll find. The Portland coloured grille is the signature hue taken from the luxury car company, while the stainless rotary control interface is inspired by the detailing from the legacy dashboard. Looks aside, the Mu-so delivers powerful and detailed sound; while the higher spec model commands 450 watts of power that’s channeled through six custom-designed speakers, the more compact Qb (pictured) is able to fit five drivers in its bijou-sized case.
