Watch Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling bring Blade Runner back to life

The trailer for the long-awaited sequel promises mystery, action and stunning visuals in equal measure

Back in 1982, Ridley Scott made Blade Runner. Despite faltering at the box office, the film went on to become a cult classic and – if you haven’t seen it – stop what you’re doing and go watch Harrison Ford run and jump around a dystopian futuristic Los Angeles shooting and destroying robots. It’s as fun as it sounds.

And that is precisely what makes the 35 years we’ve had to wait for a sequel so surprising. But, from this newly-released trailer, it looks like it’s been worth the wait. Take a look below.

Set thirty years after the original, Blade Runner 2049 sees Ryan Gosling take the mantle of the main Blade Runner, with Harrison Ford in a more backseat role. Set in a world where the weather and atmosphere has become toxic to human life, Gosling’s character is set to discover a dark secret – and sets out to find Ford’s Rick Deckard for help.

With a cast including House of Cards’ Robin Wright, Suicide Squad’s Jared Leto and Spectre’s Dave Bautista, we can’t wait for October, when the film is released. And just look at how beautiful this film is. If the decaying future looks this good, maybe it won’t be so bad…
