Gentleman’s Diary: The Gentleman’s Grand Tour take in the French Riviera

On the third day of our trip to Cannes, we head to the iconic Hotel Martinez for the views and Michelin-starred food…

Yesterday, the Gentleman’s Grand Tour enjoyed its third day under the Riviera sun, with guests including Richard Biedul, Eric Underwood and Thomas Brodie Sangster experiencing Cannes while the French city’s film festival was in full swing.

After the previous night’s Chopard party, where guests mixed with Colin Firth, Oliver Cheshire and Pixie Lott, an early start was in order — before a stroll along the Croisette to the Martinez Hotel.

After lunch at the Martinez Hotel, an iconic upscale 1920s institution and home of the Michelin-starred La Palme d’Or restaurant, we headed up to the rooftop bar — where Gentleman’s Journal interviewed James Norton for the cover of last year’s summer issue.

Drinks in hand, we made the most of the glorious Riviera sun, and interviewed everyone from Bradley James to Sam Way about all things gentlemanly. Who are their favourite actors? What makes a gentleman? What is their favourite film? Keep your eyes on Gentleman’s Journal to find out their answers very soon…

And then, it was time to head home. With the private jet waiting on the runway, we had one last whirl around the A-list city before taking off back to Britain — The Gentleman’s Grand Tour complete.
