“The sea is my inspiration,” says Guillaume Néry, in Panerai’s third entry in their celebrated ‘Traits’ series. This instalment in the campaign, which has seen four international talents describe their passions and partnership with the Panerai brand, follows the free diver as he explains his passion for the sea.

The film takes him back to a section of coast where the Frenchman used to play in his youth. “I would dive into the ocean and I would spent hours and hours exploring the undersea area,” he explains. Following his childhood passion, Néry went on to break the freediving world record four times, and continues to train and dive professionally despite being retired from competition.
He says: “Freediving is about living my life with art and passion. A way to feel connected to the world, to be a part of it.” The Panerai ambassafor now has the ultimate companion to join him on his underwater journeys, in the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic.

Water resistant to a depth of 300 meters, the watch is also equipped with a rotating bezel to calculate the duration of a dive and it is highly resistant to magnetic fields, thanks to its inner case of soft iron that insulates the movement.
“It’s not only about sports or performance,” says the freediver. “It’s not only about arts of aesthetics. It’s all of the above, combined.”
