Every week, like clockwork, we publish our Editor’s Picks. But our latest timely round-up of luxury launches ticks even more intricately than usual — with four brand new watches passing mechanical muster and making the list. From Hublot and Cartier releases to a milestone from British manufacturer Bremont, these timepieces range from vintage reissues to futuristic connected models. So buckle up, and take a look below…
Time will tell: Bremont H1 Generation ‘Supernova’
For the first time, the British watchmaker has introduced its own manufactured movement series into a core collection of timepieces. Our favourite of the three new models is this; the ‘Supernova’. Featuring a ‘Midnight’ blue dial, a hardened top bezel and the Bremont-manufactured ‘ENG375’ movement, it’s a hardy, homegrown treat.
Bright spark: Rolls-Royce ‘Spectre’ Electric Super Coupé
With a ghostly name and a silent powertrain, a new Rolls-Royce looms out of the shadows. The marque’s first fully electric motor car, the ‘Spectre’ features an all-aluminium spaceframe architecture, jewel-like vertical tail lamps and is the first two-door coupé to be equipped with 23-inch wheels by the brand in almost one hundred years.
Pull-over: Peregrine ‘Hudson’ Aran Jumper
Autumn has arrived — and, with it, a bitter chill. Thankfully, to combat the cold, Gentleman’s Journal Shop has restocked some of the most cosy, well-crafted knits available to modern men. Our pick? Out of this world: Meta Quest Pro VR Headset
The first headset slipped on since Oculus rebranded as Meta, the ‘Quest Pro’ is the inaugural entry in a new high-end line of devices from the Facebook-owned company. Expect entirely new optical stacks replacing the Fresnel lenses of past models, sharpening ‘quantum dot’ technology and a seriously slimmed-down design.
Wrap up: E.Marinella Cashmere Neck Warmer
Authentically Italian — and now open in London’s Burlington Arcade — E.Marinella is an undisputed accessories maestro. But the brand’s talents extend beyond tie-making; and another neckwear essential sold at the new site is the neck warmer. This design, two-tone, super-soft and woven from 100% cashmere, is our go-to scarf this autumn.
Green with envy: Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition
Rolled out to celebrate the car manufacturer’s 75th anniversary, this ‘Grasmere Green’ Defender boasts a specially-designed 75 Years graphic, ‘Ceres Silver’ bumpers and privacy glass. But the best touch? Those 20-inch alloy wheels, slapped with the same gloriously green shade as the rest of the limited edition car.
Strong as steel: NOMOS Glashütte Club Sport Neomatik 42
With an exceptionally thin case — just 3.6 millimetres in depth — this latest automatic watch from NOMOS Glashütte is distinguished by a manufacturing movement. With its patented date mechanism, NOMOS-Swing-System escapement and satin-finished stainless steel band, it’s a refined-yet-resilient offering from the watchmaker.
Pack it: Tumi x McLaren ‘Aero International’ Carry-On Suitcase
Among the latest sophisticated selection of luggage from Tumi and McLaren, you’ll find a holdall and a backpack. But this, the ‘Aero International’ carry-on suitcase, is the best option. Crafted from carbon fibre, the design incorporates a built-in USB port, three-stop telescope handle and four dual spinner wheels.
Good shape: Cartier ‘Pebble’ Limited Edition Gold Watch
Throughout history, only six ‘Pebble’ watches were ever created by Cartier. This year, however, to celebrate the suddenly-coveted vintage design, the jeweller will create 150 new, individually-numbered timepieces — with 36 millimetre, 18-carat yellow gold cases, Roman numeral indexes and beige calf leather straps.
