Could James Bond’s next Aston Martin be a boat?

At 37-feet and with over 1,000 horsepower, could this be the superspy's most powerful Aston yet?

Everyday, new polls are released and new bets placed on who is to take the mantle of the world’s most iconic secret agent. But, with names from P Diddy to Aiden Turner being floated, the chances of an announcement being made soon seems slimmer than the cut of Daniel Craig’s 007 suits.

What we know for sure, though, is that the new Bond isn’t going to be short on gadgets – with Q back in the franchise’s frame, boys’ toys are back in the picture. So, with the launch of an Aston Martin powerboat at the Monaco Yacht Show this year, commentators are predicting that Bond may, once again, find his sea legs. The vessel in questions, the stunningly opulent AM37, in somewhat of a curveball from the iconic British motor company, who nonetheless have created a delightfully wooden decked powerboat that is sleekly in-keeping with their four-wheeled fare.

Created by the very craftsmen responsible for the new DB11, this £1.3 million beauty can reach 50 knots, comes complete with a fully-integrated navigation system, fingerprint recognition, its own cocktail bar, a table that doubles as a bed – how very Bond, an electronic anchor system and enough room for 8 seats – and that’s just the scraping the perfectly varnished surface.

Don’t be remotely surprised then, gentlemen, if Bond chucks his car keys for good next time around, and hops aboard this 37-foot stunner.
