Wishlist: A BMW, barbecue kit and more

From BMWs to barbecue kits, this is what we want this week...

Announced late last week and now available to pre-order, the Yamazaki 2017 is the latest bottle that’ll roll out of Japan’s oldest whisky distillery. And although – in typical Suntory style – the tasting notes of this single malt won’t be revealed until release, what we do know is that it’s been matured in a variety of casks, with some elements having been aged for over 20 years. A rare treat.

Last week it was HP, but now it’s Microsoft giving the iPad some worthy competition with its latest, the Surface Pro. This sleek 2-in-1 tablet has been completely renovated with 800 new parts, has 13.5 hours of battery life (just over 3.5 hours more than an iPad), is literally Microsoft’s coolest piece of tech yet (the company has redesigned the device’s heat venting). Not to mention it’s the lightest and thinnest tablet the Washington-based giant has produced to date. Cool.

For those that want to luxe-up their picnic, then be sure to check out Rimowa’s newest offering. Inside the iconic grooved shell is two padded sections – one a case for six glasses and other bottle accessories; the other a temperature-controlled space for six bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigot – which are both incredibly travel-friendly. Summer days just got that little bit better.

Buy now for £669, exclusively at the Rimowa Concept Boutique, 153 New Bond Street, London

Old name. New machine. This weekend at Concoso d’Eleganza BMW gave us a taster of its latest high-end GT. Although little has been revealed about its powertrain, this four-wheel beauty clearly has a strong build which is emphasised by its elongated roof and swooping roofline. Other features include a paint finish in “Barcelona Grey Liquid”, slim L-shaped blade lights, and an in-built iDrive Controller – but this time it’s made of Swarovski crystal.

Yesterday would have been JFK’s 100th birthday. And what better way to pay homage to the stylish president than immersing yourself in the romantic era of Camelot with this beautiful hardback? Each page is illustrated with photographs of the 1960 campaign trail, the first family’s most intimate moments during the Sixties, the days following the assassination, and some incredible unseen images, including Shaw’s favourite shot of POTUS 35 walking alone on the dunes at Hyannis Port.

Crafted from buttery soft suede and made in a racing green colourway, make sure this Reiss jacket is your summer wardrobe staple-piece. Pair with a grey crewneck T-Shirt, dark selvedge jeans, and some minimalistic white sneakers for the ideal off-duty ensemble.

In celebration of National Barbecue Week, we’ve scoured the web to bring you the only kit you’ll need to sizzle up a charred feast for friends and family. Coming straight from London institute 34 Mayfair, this box is complete with the restaurant’s own label olive oil, Spanish spice rub, meat thermometer and other essentials to satiate your inner grilling guru.
