Wishlist: Bomber jackets, barbecues and more

From bomber jackets to barbecues, this is what we want this week...

Constructed from reclaimed wood, luxury fragrance company Le Labo has just created an electric home diffuser that’s not only a homage to Thomas Edison’s lightbulb, but is perhaps an upgrade to it. Sure, Edison gave us the gift of light, but he didn’t create a nebuliser which can diffuse a fine smelling mist throughout your home, did he?

Award-winning frame builders Sven Cycles has designed this stylish and practical bike (dubbed “The Roadster”) as part of its semi-customised model range. Crafted in Dorset, this two-wheel beauty is intended for the daily commute and comes in a hand-painted “rouge noir” colourway while its flat swept back handle bars guarantee a smooth ride.

Montblanc’s highly-anticipated smartwatch finally launched last Thursday, and it was definitely worth the agonisingly-long wait. Made in partnership with Google, the luxury brand’s latest timepiece was made with the intention to “introduce fine watchmaking codes to the connected watch world.” And it’s succeeded in doing that, as this horological beauty runs Android Wear 2.0, features a touch-screen display, and has an in-built microphone that allows users to ask Google Assistant for information, directions, translations, and help with every day tasks.

Donned by supremely stylish men such as Mark Ronson, you can’t go wrong with a simple bomber jacket. And this one by Maison Margiela has caught our attention this week. Timeless and fuss-free, this essential menswear item is ideal for layering under a long coat during winter and for slipping over a crisp white T-Shirt in summer.

Holidaying nowadays isn’t as relaxing as it used to be. Your body may be on the sun bed, but your mind is still in the office thanks to our ever-increasing technological addiction. However, we may have found the thing to help you switch off: the Light Phone. Designed to serve as a way of staying connected while simultaneously going of the grid, this minute gadget is the size of a debit card, uses the same number as your smartphone, and only lets you make and receive calls. The best part? There’s no five-inch screen, meaning that you won’t be tempted to have a quick Insta-browse while poolside.

Easy to assemble and built from 3mm corten steel sheets (a steel designed to form a protective layer of rust over time), the Stadler Outdoor Pizza Oven is the ultimate piece of patio furniture you need this summer. To use, simply start a fire in the lower box and place your food on the stove, and while smaller fires will let you bake bread, fish and meat, larger fires will allow you to cook pizzas within five minutes due to the oven’s maximum temperature of 750-degrees Fahrenheit. Overcooked burgers burnt on overpriced barbecues will be a thing of the past.

The allure of using a record player is the ritual of selecting a vinyl, placing it on the turntable, and delicately dropping the needle into the groove. But, the guys behind the Kickstarter campaign Spinbox DIY Turntable have taken that experience one step further by giving you the tools to build the record player itself (all of which can be put together in 18 minutes). In terms of specs, the finished product includes a built-in amp and speakers, is USB-powered for convenience, and can play at any speed.
