Wishlist: Topcoat, Jukebox and a fresh summer fragrance

From a Crosley jukebox to a brown leather camera strap, this is what we want this week...

With the colder seasons approaching, it’s time to pack away your shorts and start thinking about stocking-up your autumn wardrobe. And although items such as parkas and wool trousers will be first to feature on your wishlist, this fifties-inspired fringed scarf by Danish fashion house Samsøe & Samsøe will be the unsung layer that’ll help you defy the harsh breeze in a stylish manner. An essential for the modern British gent.

Upgrade the way you record shop with Wax & Jackson’s olive canvas tote. With a large 10 x 15-inch pocket, this vintage-inspired bag offers ample room to lug around a mini vinyl collection on-the-go, and the exterior pocket also allows storage space for easy-access accessories such as notebooks and pens. In addition, the Olive Tote uses premium British materials, such as 24oz water-resistant cotton canvas and vegetable-tanned leather straps, to achieve both a heritage aesthetic and a durable construction.

New H&M brand Arket has just cut the ribbons to its flagship store on London’s Regent Street and is offering minimalistic Scandi menswear and homeware items at moderate prices. And for those who can’t make it down to the capital then you’re in luck, as everything is also available to purchase online. We particularly like this Italian-made, thigh-length topcoat with a green and black tartan pattern and concealed buttoning at the front. A timeless item with a contemporary update.

Simple in design and quality in construction, the FIL Mass chair is everything you need to enhance your abode without a major overhaul. Its backrest and seat are made from solid Oguni cedar wood, while the light frame is crafted from tubular copper-finished metal, lending the chair a solid, yet airy, quality. It’s finished with a pair of Maharam 008 Sycamore fabric cushions in a marl grey colourway.

With the turntable’s comeback fully cemented, it’s only natural for the return of the jukebox, which was once a household staple piece back in the fifties. The only vinyl-playing jukebox being made in the world currently – the Vinyl Rocket by Crosley – has a unique rotating mechanism that holds 70 records and plays a 140-strong collection of A and B sides, a revolving title rack that allows you to select your favourite albums and a D4 amplifier with a five way in-built speaker system.

But despite the throwback nature of this musical machine, it does incorporate mod cons such as a Bluetooth receiver and an auxiliary output, both of which allow you to play digital songs through the speakers.

The new fragrance from Issey Miyake is a unisex aromatic, aquatic fragrance. Opening with notes of bergamot, and enhanced with a fresh grapefruit scent wrapped in the aroma of crisp and salty sea winds, this is a revelation from the Japanese fashion house, and sits on a base of fragrant woody accords and velvety cashmeran notes.

Nothing screams “tourist” quite like a red camera strap emblazoned with a “Canon” logo. For the sophisticated traveller, you’re going to need something more subtle and smart. This offering by Hardgraft should do the trick. Made from vegetable tan leather and fine felted wool, not only will this accessory keep your DSLR from smashing but it’ll also help you blend in with the locals.
