Wishlist: Smartwatch, iconic aftershave and an on-water bicycle

From football boots to floating bikes, this is what we want this week...

California-based woodworking specialist Jory Brigham has crafted some stately furniture in the past years, but few can trump the Mackenrow. Forged from walnut and accented with a strip of orange, brass inlay and a net comprised of a classic Danish weave, this regulation-sized ping pong table is the perfect addition to any bachelor pad.

And, although it’s primarily used for recreational purposes, it can also double up as a dining counter – after all, regardless of however you’re going to use it, it’s guaranteed to add some serious style credentials to whichever room it’s in.

Akin to the three previous entries to Acqua di Parma’s Colonia collection, Note di Colonia IV has taken inspiration from the world of opera. This time round the Italian scent master has been inspired by “Donna non vidi mai!” (“I have never seen such a woman”) from Giacomo Puccini’s Manon Lescaut. Using sweet notes such as green mandarin, bergamot and orange blossom, this is a vibrant, sensual fragrance that bottles the intense emotions of love at first sight. And with just a few sprays on your pulse points, you’ll soon be attracting plenty of admiration in your direction.

Having designed contemporary bars for over twenty years, designer Jonathan Green knows a few things about storing your favourite tipples. One of his latest creations, The Gin Trolley, is perhaps his best yet. Bottles are distributed in and around the trolley to avoid the appearance of clutter.

A drawer unit stores glassware and cocktail making tools. And a ventilated cabinet houses a mini fridge to keep a selection of tonics chilled. So whether it’s a Martini or a G&T, this statement unit will ensure that you stir up some seriously delicious drinks in a way that’d make even Don Draper envious.

Sales of smartwatches haven’t quite taken off in the way manufacturers would have liked them to, but Huawei is one the few companies still stirring interest amongst consumers despite all that. And its newest fitness-oriented timepiece, known simply as the Watch 2, is mandatory for those who don’t like jogging with the bulk of their smartphone.

With its own SIM card that allows standalone connectivity, users will have access to a whole host of new and practical features including a GPS chip to map your runs, a heart-rate sensor to track exercise, Bluetooth to allow a phone or headphone connection and dual microphones to pick up your voice when you make calls and talk at your wrist.

With endorsements by the likes of the Prince and Princess of Monaco, the Schiller S1-C is the coolest new water accessory that’s beginning to make gargantuan waves within the superyacht community. And it’s easy to see why, as it can be assembled in less than ten minutes, requires minimal maintenance and is serviceable by standard bike mechanics the world over.

But its fuss-free nature doesn’t mean that it shirks on quality. When it comes to performance its proprietary drive train employs carbon fibre belts and flexible shafts that enable riders to easily create forward thrusts with a high degree of manoeuvrability, while the high-pressure drop-stitch pontoons ensure maximum safety on the water. Riders can also hit a cruising speed of 4 – 5 mph and a maximum of 10 knots per hour. A must-have for those looking to see out the final summer weeks by the harbour.

In this era of nuclear-coloured football boots, Nike has decided to go against the grain by releasing these all-black beauties. Crafted from both a lightweight Flyknit material and kangaroo leather, the Tiempo Legend VII is ideal for players who like to see flexibility and durability in their footwear.

Additionally, to help prevent over-stretching of the leather toebox, a Fit-Mesh liner has been added to help preserve the shape of the silhouette. The Hyperstability plate – the sole plate which features a mixture of jagged conical studs, chevrons and blades – also allows for multi-directional movements and quick acceleration. This is the ultimate boot that bridges retro aesthetics with modern technology.

For those that wish to elevate their Mackenrow table even further, let Jaune de Chrome help you out. With over 25 years of research and experimentation behind them, each of the French house’s exclusively-designed products are handmade to prove that tableware and home décor items are opulent art forms. Made of either porcelain, stainless steel, silver or gold, each piece features a glaze that blends metallics that are then meticulously applied to fine Limoges porcelain, ensuring that no two items are exactly alike.
