Pioneers of the modern-day sports watch, Linde Werdelin never fail to impress when they release a new timepiece. Their latest, the Oktopus BluMoon is one of their finest creations yet. Although it’s reminiscent of an earlier model, the Oktopus MoonLite, it successfully stands up on its own two legs thanks to a slew of new design cues.

Constructed of grade 5 titanium, this watch is limited to just 59 pieces, falling in line with the rare and equally precious wristwatches of the brand’s past. The Oktopus BluMoon’s eyes are well and truly set on the future though, which is evident when you take just one look at the watch’s contemporary, forward-thinking design.

Linde Werdelin have a history of playing with notions of light and form. They have taken this a step further here though, managing to apply a number of different finishes to the case of the BluMoon, which in turn allow the light to reflect in ways that were’t previously possible. The different angles of the case are accentuated by this, giving it a look completely unique to the watch.

The dial itself have been given the same semi-skeletonised finish that has been applied to previous iterations in the series, but this time a new Royal blue colour has been utilised. The five-layered dial is accented by the familiar photo-realistic moon phase complication, which can be seen through an opening in the dial between 4 and 8 o’clock. Behind the dial is the highly-reliable in-house movement that featured in the MoonLite, the Moon Tattoo, the Moon Gold and the Moon Black.
