

STYLE – THE TRENDS WE LOVE FROM PITTI UOMO

Dapper gentlemen were out in force at Pitti Uomo 86, the world’s largest men’s fashion week, that took place in Florence last week. Hot on the heels of London Collections: Men, the Florentine gathering normally provides a less contemporary look, with an emphasis on fine tailoring and dandyism. This year did not disappoint, with double breasted jackets and knitted ties abounding. Every jacket seemed to harbour a pocket square and panama hats were common. Perhaps the most striking trend this year was the lack of socks: whether it was denims or a suit, trousers were short revealing bare ankles.
