Watch aficionados can often be heard evangelising over complications, chronographs and moon phases. But, as beautiful as these details are, most of them don’t provide too much of a benefit to the day-to-day wearer.
With the Dual Time function in the latest Vacheron Constantin Overseas, however, the Swiss masters have created a complication that fits beautifully into the rhythm of everyday life — and all in a classic and striking sports-inflected 41mm case.
As soon as you pick this watch up you get a real sense of the type of person who wears this watch. And you almost feel yourself become that person. The man who seems to fit in 25 hours of work into a 24 hour day, yet still has time to beat his business partner at squash in the evening. The man who spends more than his fair share of time at cruising altitude but never arrives late to a party.

The Overseas packs dual time and AM/PM indicators into its swimming-pool blue dial, allowing the wearer to dip in and out of time zones with a single glance.
Crucially, the watch uses a fourth, arrow-headed hand to display the hours in its secondary time zone — this is marked by a glowing luminova tip, making it visible even in the half-light of a transatlantic plane cabin.
The Overseas is powered by Vacheron Constantin’s 5110 DT in-house movement, which means each of its 234 parts is built with the same perfectionist craftsmanship that Vacheron have been exercising for more than 260 years. Available in stainless steel and 18 karat pink gold, this watch is the perfect foil to the active lifestyle of the modern jetsetter (especially those who tend to turn left when they board the plane).
What’s more, each model comes with rubber and alligator leather straps included, meaning the Overseas is equally at home in the business class lounge as it as on the squash court.
