Could this be the most stylish film of the summer?

Everyone's talking about Baby Driver. But what can you learn from the clothes of the characters?

Baby Driver has arrived. And, whilst the highly-anticipated film is obviously blessed with some killer wheels and a super soundtrack, the style cues will be an unexpected treat for anyone off to the cinema tonight.

Ansel Elgort – the titular baby-faced getaway driver – graces our cover this issue. However, despite discussing fans and fame in Gentleman’s Journal – when he wasn’t busy throwing himself fully-clothed into a hotel pool – Elgort and his fellow cast members have appeared on chat shows and red carpets around the world, dressed to the nines and ready to press play on the film of the year.

Actors from Kevin Spacey and Lily James to Jamie Foxx and Jon Hamm have clearly been enjoying the ride on the run up to this release, and with jackets from bomber to biker, and loudly-patterned suits, jumpers and everything in between, Baby Driver looks set to become not only the coolest, but also the most stylish, film of the summer. In light of this – and each character’s strikingly signature style – we’ve put together a few tips on where you can find the look of your new favourite criminals.

He may drive at breakneck speeds, but you still won’t miss Ansel Elgort bombing around in his bomber. A comeback kid of the SS18 collections, and seen in ranges from Giorgio Armani to Berluti, this is the garment of the moment. But buy quickly; they’ll be gone faster than Baby Driver himself…

Jon Hamm, complete with neck tattoo and sneaker/suit pairing, is worlds away from Don Draper. And, key to his criminal arsenal is the classic ‘bad guy’ trench. But don’t let that put you off. With the re-release of Belstaff’s classic Roadmaster jacket, and Burberry continuing to produce their world-standard trench, there’s no better time to take a leaf out of this bank-robber’s book, and invest.

He may be known for his power-hungry, machiavellian roles, but Kevin Spacey’s latest character takes things to a whole new level. His suiting, however, is reassuringly familiar, with conservative jackets and woollen blazers. And, looking forward to Autumn, it may pay to follow suit – but without the violence…

Jamie Foxx’s style in Baby Driver is so outlandish that we can’t even think of a name for it? Flamboyant thug? Outlandish felon? With a wardrobe chocked full of statement jackets and jazzy jumpers, only one thing threads together this character’s crazy get-ups, and that’s a love of the colour red.
