Style – new paul smith shop
Words: Violet

Paul Smith No. 9 Albemarle Street, 9 Albemarle Street, London, W1S 4BL
Paul Smith has a new and bigger London home. Located at No. 9 Albemarle Street it’s the latest hangout for the sartoriallygifted. The bigger the better we say as it means more room for Smith’s coveted designs.
Extending the pre-existing Paul Smith shop on the corner of Albemarle and Stafford Street, the new space expands into the neighbouring building. It’s the latest go-to for menswear, accessories and footwear.
The interior of the new space is decorated with an immaculately honed selection of sculptures, paintings and furniture are dispersed throughout the shop, creating the air of refined eclecticism that Paul Smith is famed for. Gents can relax into the spacious men’s area which has a modernist, masculine style as they peruse Smith’s latest designs.
To coincide with the opening of Paul Smith at No. 9 Albemarle Street an exhibition of items designed by Dieter Rams will be on display in the shop. If you aren’t familiar with this name become wise now. The name Dieter Rams is synonymous with exceptional product design on the global stage. During his tenure as Director of the Design Department at Braun he initiated a ground-breaking aesthetic philosophy, firmly rooted in the principle of “less, but better”. Lauded by many as the master of minimalism he is one of the world’s most influential product designers.
The ‘das programm’ exhibition on display at Smith’s new joint presents a vast collection of his work.
