Somerset House’s latest pop-up is your new favourite summer bar

Bringing a taste of the White Isle to one of London’s best-loved buildings, Somerset House has just outdone all other hang-outs and haunts in the capital

Summer is here — and, with it, our desire to crack open a cold one.

Thankfully, on the south side of the Strand in central London, Somerset House’s latest pop up is there to sate your summery needs. Overlooking the River Thames, just east of Waterloo Bridge, there are few spots in the city better suited to hosting a pop-up rooftop bar than the London institution.

And, this year, Somerset House have teamed up with premium beer brand San Miguel to offer Londoners a taste of the Mediterranean summer — whatever the weather might choose to do in the capital.

So, along with the chance to sample a huge range of San Miguel beers, visitors can also enjoy a selection of tapas-style food, as well as a series of live music performances.

A new way to drink beer…

As the exclusive UK home of the San Miguel Tap Station, this year Somerset House will host a unique innovation capable of serving five blended specialty beers. Inspired by the brand’s journey around the world, these truly are exclusives — and available nowhere else.

The Tap Station beers have varying degrees of hops, malts and strengths, with tasting notes inspired by cities from the floral hops of Hong Kong, to hints of coffee and caramel notes of Munich.

A very Spanish celebration…

In celebration of San Miguel’s Spanish origins and Iberian connections, the terrace this year will also include dishes created by a number of London’s most exciting chefs — each designed to complement the authentic taste of the wide range of beers available.

All summer long...

The Terrace will be open and available to visit throughout all the summer months, right through until early autumn.

This means that you can enjoy a refreshing glass of San Miguel at all the must-see events taking place at Somerset House later in the year — from the Photo London event, to the Somerset House Summer Series and Film4 Summer Screen.
