Qatar Goodwood Festival, formerly known as Glorious Goodwood, is set to be the sporting and social highlight of the flat-racing season.
Taking place from Tuesday 26th until Saturday 30th July, Qatar Goodwood Festival 2016 will showcase British horse racing at its finest, as guests enjoy an abundance of fine food, champagne and strawberries. With over 200 years of history and experience, Goodwood Racecourse in West Sussex is the ultimate destination for racing and entertainment. Nestled amongst 12,000 acres of idyllic countryside, this beautiful course provides the perfect backdrop to a unique and classically British affair.
The festival is flourishing under its second year of Qatari sponsorship, and improvements include the impressive new Owner’s and Trainer’s restaurant, where members can celebrate their horse’s success. Guests will also be able to enjoy an entirely transformed Sussex Grandstand, bar and dining facilities, providing much more room to drink and socialise in style.
Notorious for being a stylish and sophisticated occasion, Goodwood’s guests embrace classic British fashion in a relaxed atmosphere alongside the excitement of world-class racing. From pastel shirts, panama hats and linen suits for the gentlemen, cool sophistication is definitely Goodwood’s distinctive style.
Lord March, owner of the Goodwood Estate, says “Qatar completely understands the significance of our rich history and totally gets what Goodwood means to the English summer season. To be racing at Goodwood and know you are seeing the best horses competing for the highest prizes adds hugely to the excitement and atmosphere of the festival – it’s all about being in the presence of the world’s best. It’s not only a very positive thing for Goodwood but also for the sport as a whole. This support from Qatar has raised the racing game in this country.”
The Qatar Goodwood Festival makes for the ultimate summer day out; a great occasion to enjoy with family and friends. A limited number of tickets still remain for Ladies’ Day and Friday, with Saturday general admission tickets now entirely sold out.
