At this year’s Watches and Wonders, NOMOS Glashütte – the luxury watchmaker known for its stripped-back stylings and precise German engineering – made horology headlines with the unveiling of its new Club Sport neomatik Worldtimer, a timepiece that introduces a worldtime function into the Club Sport range for the first time.

Made for globetrotters, and labelled as a ‘go anywhere, do anything’ design, it’s a creation with functionality right at the core. Notably, it’s powered by the DUW 3202, a new automatic caliber with a worldtime function – this component comes in at just 4.8mm in height, making it thinner than a passport, and the watch as a whole is one of the thinnest of its kind at 9.9mm.

As many enthusiasts will have noted at the Geneva fair, this model comes in six limited-edition colourways, each an ode to ‘the most beautiful landscapes in the world’: Volcano, Jungle, Canyon, Glacier, Magma and Dune.

In addition to those bold takes, the Club Sport neomatik Worldtimer is also available in two standard versions that arrive in a timeless, clean style and a stainless-steel case: one with a deep-blue dial; and the other with a dial that’s rhodium-plated.

The dials for both are done out in a sunburst finish, creating a vibrant, dynamic appearance, and there are 24 time zones located on the blue outer ring, all of which are labelled by city codes – LON, BER and ATH among them – written in a contrasting white hue. A pusher at 2 o’clock puts the city disk in motion, and the time differences are placed below the destinations.

A red marker above 12 indicates the region chosen as the local time zone, meanwhile at 3 o’clock, you’ll see a 24-hour display for a second time zone of your choosing, whether that’s your home town or a city you like to keep checking in with. Here, the subdial’s ring is split into two tones to mark the changing between day and night (whereas the blue dial features two shades of blue, the rhodium-plated dial makes use of a sky-blue and red.

Moreover, the label has managed to also dial up the safety on the watch without having to compromise on its elegance: when the crown is fully screwed down, the entire creation is water-resistant up to 10 atm, a feat that only elevates its go-anywhere credentials.
