Make Christmas 2020 one to remember with Louis Roederer

Because we’ve never needed a bit of festive cheer more…

It’s fair to say that, unless you happen to be the CEO of Zoom, 2020 hasn’t exactly been one for the ages. And, while there may be a glimmer of hope on the horizon in the form of a coronavirus vaccine, it seems likely that Christmas and New Year aren’t going to be the big, jolly social events we’re all used to.

However, there is cause for celebration. Whether you’ve mastered a new skill, discovered a new found passion for running or simply finally made it to the bottom of that stack of books beside your bed, 2020 has offered us all a chance to slow down, reset and take stock of what really matters. It is a year that has taught us to appreciate courage, resilience and kindness, both in ourselves and others, while learning that the true value of life lies not in the superficial but in time spent with loved ones. And we think that’s something to raise a glass to this Christmas.

Even if this festive season doesn’t turn out as planned, it’s still the perfect time to carve out a moment to reflect on the year and everything you’ve achieved – even if all that means is making it to the end of 2020 intact. So how better to spoil yourself than by opening a bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV? Available at Waitrose and Majestic Wines, this signature fizz from the famed Champagne house has offered up its reliably sophisticated, complex and layered flavour for decades. So, if nothing else, you can at least count on that.

“The freshness, finesse, and brightness of Brut Premier make it the perfect wine for festive occasions,” says Louis Roederer cellar master Jean Baptiste Lécaillon. “Its structured texture, richness, and length are distinctly winey. It is a full, complex wine that is both rich and powerful, whilst remaining a great classic.”

Crafted from a blend of 40% pinot noir, 40% chardonnay and 20% pinot meunier, every bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier is aged for more than three years to produce that distinctive fresh yet structured flavour. Of course, much of the finished result relies on the quality of Louis Roederer’s vines and the Maison is accordingly leading the way in sustainable Champagne production. And, if there’s anything 2020’s staycations have taught us, it’s the beauty and sanctity of the nature in our back yards.

For Louis Roederer this means constantly keeping its finger on the pulse of the vineyards, monitoring changes and acting accordingly to create the best conditions for both the grapes and the local flora and fauna. The house is a pioneer in organic farming in the region and strives to work with, not against, the evolving conditions of the Champagne region to produce the most ethical and delicious product possible. We’ve tried the end result and can confirm the house is doing a fine job.
