If there’s one thing Luca Faloni knows, it’s his linen. In the latest issue of Gentleman’s Journal, where we interviewed the Italian designer, he told us that: “If you have the best linen shirts in the world, that’s a big market.”
We’d be inclined to agree — and Faloni’s own offerings are up there with out very favourites. Which is why, when we learned that the designer was launching another pop-up (his temporary store in Notting Hill last year popped up to rave reviews and great success), we couldn’t wait to take a look.
We weren’t disappointed. This year, the brand has set up shop on the King’s Road in Chelsea — at Number 23, to be exact — and the theme is ‘Linen Voyage by Luca Faloni’. Showcasing the collection of Italian-crafted, summer linen-wear, not to mention the exceptional cashmere knitwear collection for which the brand is known, the store is a must-visit destination for a modern day adventurer.
Visitors to the pop-up showcase will find a full selection of linen pieces combining Italian heritage and craftsmanship with contemporary styling and fit including classic and kaftan shirts, linen-cotton tailored shorts, scarves and beach towels.
In addition, the ‘Dolce Vita’ lifestyle of the Italian Riviera will be bought to life with an Italian beach club lounge, where customers can peruse the brand’s products online and try pieces on before purchase.
And it’s a treat to see Luca Faloni products in a traditional retail environment. As the brand usually sells exclusively online, they are able to cut out the ‘middleman’ and invest more in superior materials and true Italian artisanship to handcraft each collection, bringing exceptional value to their customers. But, until September 8, you can enjoy the best of both worlds — with an Aperol Spritz in hand to boot…
