We Love – Lock & Co Hats

Words: Violet

Whilst we, here at The Gentleman’s Journal, are vehemently against the kind of small trilby that many a badly dressed man might wear when on holiday – you know the kind, those cheap straw numbers that every beach vendor sells for about €10 – when the hat is right, we really can’t think of anything more gentlemanly. Call us old fashioned, but we still rejoice in the tipping of a brim, or even full removal when a woman enters a room. We know that those days belong mainly in the past, but that is no reason not to relive the etiquette of our forefathers and try a hat this season. There is one place in particular for any hat inclined gentleman, and that is the iconic Lock & Co. We’ve chosen a few our favourite hats to take you from the showers of London through to the glorious sunshine of St Barts.

THE NOMAD, , First up, the Nomad is the perfect accessory for unexpected showers. The wool felt is waterproof, rollable, and has a drop brim, making the nomad a perfect hat for taking out walking or shooting. Plus you’ll like Johnny Depp – (he buys his hats from Lock & Co too) – and that can only ever be a good thing., £150, lockhatters.co.uk
