Behold the great, big John Varvatos sample sale
Taking place at The Music Room in Mayfair, the sample sale sees up to 90 per cent off across a selection of menswear, footwear & accessories.
What’s not to love about a sample sale? The discounts are next to nothing and the spaces are never too crowded. You can often find pieces you've once wanted, but are no longer sold in stores, or else get access to clothes that were once shown on catwalks and in photoshoots, but actually never made it into production. So whenever one swings around, we can’t wait to get down to it.
June sees American label John Varvatos hold its own over at The Music Room in Mayfair. Situated moments from Oxford Street and round the corner from Bond Street tube station, The Music Room is a 4,000 sq foot space that frequently holds sample sales. But on 10th June, that space will be dominated by pieces from John Varvatos’s previous collections.
Varvatos started his namesake brand in 2000, having worked for Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein in design roles. Known for his rebellious clothing, commonly with a rockstar edge (think heavy lather jackets, chunky belts and skinny-fit jeans), Varvatos has been a staple on the American menswear scene for over two decades.
What do you need to know about it? Well, beside the fact that there will be up to 90 per cent off retail price, there’s a few logistics to be aware of ahead of turning up to ensure a flowing shopping experience. No cash, card only. No refunds, but why would you want to return anything, anyway? And there’s no sign up policy, as with a lot of traditional sample sales, which means you can just turn up whenever you want.
