New Headphones for 2014 – Bowers & Wilkins P5 Maserati Edition

Ah, we love it when two great brands representing impeccable design, unrivalled luxury and invariable elegance come together. The collaborators in question are legendary brands Bowers & Wilkins and Maserati.

Bringing together their principles of style and reputations of quality, they have created the P5 Maserati Edition Headphones. Constructed using the fine-grain natural leather in Maserati’s iconic and distinctive deep racing blue, the aesthetics of this product scream masculinity and comfort. Fans of the luxury car brand have even more reason to rejoice as the famous Maserati Trident emblem – based on the statue of Neptune in Bologna’s Piazza Maggiore and designed by Mario Maserati – can be seen on the headband and the accompanying quilted leather travel pouch. But it is not just the appearance that impresses.

Utilising all their audio knowledge to date, Bowers & Wilkins have made sure that the sound is state of the art. Using the same award-winning audio performance as in their original P5 Mobile Hi-Fi headphones, they have included ultra-linear neodymium magnet and highly optimised Mylar diaphragms. In Layan’s term (which, let’s face it, most of us require), the sound is clear, crisp and natural. What’s more, the sealed-leather ear pads and a closed-back design ensure maximum noise isolation so gone will be the days of disgruntled fellow passengers giving you nasty looks on the train as you blair out the latest Bobby Womack track.

Thankfully, the headphones are also decked out with all the other details we have come to expect, a made for iPhone®-approved cable as well as a standard audio cable (with gold-plated plugs no less).
