Editor’s Picks: Wine Trunk, Balvenie Whisky and Porsche 911 Carrera
From the latest private plane from HondaJet to a white gold pendant from De Beers, this is what we want this week…
It takes time to achieve perfection. Just as The Balvenie, the century-old whisky distillery that this week unveiled a stunning sixty-year-old bottling; a single cask bottling from 1962 and both the oldest and rarest scotch the brand has ever released.
Or Porsche, the iconic German automaker that introduced its next sportster mere days ago; a cumulation of the decades of fixing-up and fine-tuning since the first ‘911’ arrived in 1964. Add to that the latest Jaeger-LeCoultre ‘Reverso’ (which first ticked to life in 1931) and a Shackleton jacket inspired by a 1914 expedition, and you’ve got a heritage-heavy, time-tested product picks. Take a look…
Driving force: 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera ’T’

It stands for ‘touring’ — and that extra high-performance letter brings with it a seven-speed manual transmission, ‘PASM’ sports suspension and reductions of both 10mm in height and 100lbs in weight. And, while the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine from the 911 Carrera remains, the ‘GT Sport’ steering wheel and sport exhaust system are brand new.
All that glitters: De Beers ‘RVL’ Pendant in White Gold

There are glimmers of dog tag about De Beers’ latest piece of jewellery. But this high-shine, pavé-set diamond pendant is far from utilitarian. Instead, as part of the brand’s new unisex ‘RVL’ collection, the irregular octagon pendant is crafted using sumptuous 18-carat white gold and finished with a coating of rhodium to resist tarnishing.
Smooth operator: Bamford Grooming ‘Edition 1’ Beard and Shave Oil

There’s nothing quite so scratchy as a rough shave in winter weather. Thankfully, Bamford is on hand to help. This slickly-bottled beard and shave balm is infused with omega-rich blackcurrant and antioxidant borage oils to help hydrate and protect your face from every stroke of your razor. And that leather and wood smoke finish is particularly pleasing at this time of the year.
Button it: Stenströms Slimline Corduroy Shirt

It’s often said that corduroy shirts, like their rugged denim cousins, can’t ever look refined. Try telling that to Stenströms, the sophisticated Swedish brand behind this single-cuff, baby-cord button up. With two flap pockets and pointed front yokes, it may have rugged western influences — but that dark green colour ensures it spans every dress code.
Flip it: Jaeger-LeCoultre ‘Reverso Classic’ Large

Iconic and harmonic, this versatile, tuneful timepiece from the Swiss manufacturer recently topped the bill in MR PORTER’s musically-minded ‘Keeping Time’ campaign. In an Art Deco-inspired squared steel case, this model is fitted with a 55-part flip mechanism that allows you to easily twist the silver guilloché dial and safely hide it away.
Take off: HondaJet Elite II

Fuel-efficient, fiercely fast and the farthest flying aircraft in its class, HondaJet’s latest release is aerodynamically designed for a focus on performance and efficiency. It’s a private jet for the future, and features a Garmin G3000 integrated flight deck, a range of almost 1,800 miles and hardwood herringbone flooring inside the cabin.
Raise a glass: The Balvenie Sixty Whisky

Only 71 bottles of this marvellous whisky will ever be sold. Brimming with a mesmerising array of autumnal aromas; from heather and bracken to rich toffee, roasted coffee and bursts of charred oak, this scotch (which marks six decades of service for industry icon and renowned Malt Master, David C. Stewart) comes presented in a glass, gold and brass case.
Wrap up: Shackleton ‘Endurance’ Parka

The adventurous British brand is back; and its award-winning, best-selling expedition parka is better than ever. With a new store in Covent Garden and a revised jacket design (featuring goose down insulation, a recycled lining and both a robust outer shell and snorkel hood), Shackleton is the luxury label you want on your side — and in your wardrobe — this winter.
Green onions: Breitling ‘Chronomat’ Automatic GMT 40

A tribute to travel, Breitling’s latest trim timepiece features a dual time zone display, all-steel case and tone-on-tone 24-hour scale. We’re particularly taken with the bold green dial colour — but the ‘onion’ crown (a classic Chronomat feature named for its fluted-dome shape) is the easy-adjusting, eye-catching standout.
Bottle shock: Rimowa Twelve Bottle Wine Case

Luggage maestros Rimowa are celebrating the upcoming launch of their aluminium ‘Twelve Bottle Wine Case’ by partnering with a dozen of the most renowned Napa wine producers — to keep every one of the case’s cushioned cut-out slots filled with the finest fizz and vintages.
Tune in: Ruark Audio ‘R2’ Music System

All-new and tuned into a handsome retro-modern aesthetic, Ruark’s latest music system is equipped with DAB+, FM, and Internet radio tuners, as well as support for major streaming services, including Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. Ideal for your home office.
