This week, we’re drinking and driving. Not at the same time, obviously — that would be horribly, hazardously irresponsible.
Rather, we’re first admiring a trio of fine motors, including a new one-off Aston Martin and an electrifyingly exciting Polestar 6 roadster. And then — keys firmly out of the ignition — we’re cracking into a couple of new top-notch tipples; an oak-aged gin from the Netherlands, and a luxury lager from Germany. Take a look below…
Trail runner: 2023 Ford Bronco Heritage Limited Edition
How about this for a retro off-roader? Thanks to a two-tone paint job, unique Oxford White grilles and 17-inch aluminium heritage wheels, it sure looks the vintage part. But, with a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine under that bonnet, ‘Big Bend’ rear shocks and a ‘Sasquatch’ off-road package, it remains a thoroughly modern motor.
Good as gold: Seventy One Gin
It’s gin — but not as you know it. Packaged like a perfume, in an angular bottle and chic white box, Seventy One is brimming with rare botanicals including the ‘Queen of the Night’ cactus flower. But the colour is its most eye-catching quality; a rich golden hue bestowed by 71 nights ageing in a succession of toasted oak casks.
Earn your stripes: Ripa Ripa ‘Paraggi’ Swim Shorts
A pair of swim shorts that’ll make a splash, make waves and make every other beach-goer green with envy — these emerald-striped trunks from Milanese menswear brand Ripa Ripa are perfect for summer. Our favourite detail? The tying-cord is cut from braided nautical rope, for an authentic maritime touch.
Fair and square: NOMOS Glashütte Tetra Neomatik ‘Off White’ Wristwatch
NOMOS Glashütte has been crafting clean, modernist wristwatches in Germany ever since the Berlin Wall fell. Its latest, an ‘Off White’ edition of the ‘Tetra Neomatik’ model, features distinctive blue ‘Tangente’ numerals, an efficient ‘DUW 3001’ calibre and a water-repellent cordovan leather strap. Already launched and limited to just 175 pieces, time is ticking.
One for the road: Aston Martin DBR22 Roadster
With a design inspired by the British marque’s historic DBR1 and DB3S models, this latest V12-engined, two-seater, coach-built concept is one of the rarest cars in Aston Martin’s 109-year history. Twin nacelles sculpt the airflow around the driver, vast exhaust tailpipes channel the car’s raw power and a bespoke, full-width light bar spans its racy rear.
Back on track: Ducati TK-01 RR ‘Limited Edition’ Electric Mountain Bike
Another new release from a full-throttled motor manufacturer — although Ducati’s latest lacks the brand’s usual high-octane bite. Instead, this limited edition ‘TK-01RR’ mountain bike features a Shimano ‘EP8’ electric engine, a handy 12-speed transmission and Öhlins’ ‘DH38’ triple clamp race forks to enhance its downhill performance.
Crystal clear: Insta360 ‘Link' 4K Webcam
Powered by AI and with retina-sharp 4K definition, the latest launch from Insta360 is much more than a webcam; it’s an office assistant. Gesture control makes presenting extraordinarily easy, smart tracking ensures you always remain visible and ‘DeskView Mode’ can automatically adjust the shot to show your tabletop.
Catch the sun: Urbanista ‘Phoenix' Solar-Powered Earphones
Recently announced, but yet to launch, these ‘Phoenix’ wireless earphones from Urbanista are a fiercely futuristic bit of kit. With a case crafted from ‘Powerfoyle’ solar cell material, they’ll charge constantly to power their noise cancellation capabilities, crystal clear phone calls and an impressive 32 hours of music or podcast playtime.
Shifting gears: Polestar 6 Electric Roadster
Revealed this week, the Polestar 6 follows hot on the wheels of Polestar’s O₂ concept, unveiled in March. This production model features a unique ‘Sky’ blue exterior, light leather interior and unique 21-inch wheels that’ll carry the car up to a targeted 0-100 kmh sprint time of 3.2 seconds — and on to a top speed of 250 kmh.
Bottle it: Noam Bavarian Lager
As with Seventy One Gin above, we had our heads turned by Noam’s handsome bottle design. But the Bavarian lager inside — unfiltered, naturally finished and brewed to the highest purity standards — is a refreshingly sophisticated alternative to your pedestrian pint. Expect bready malts up front, and a long hoppy finish.
Feeling blue: Benedict Raven ‘Timeless’ T-shirt
