Can you feel the heat? The hot, humid, hellfire level of heat? It’s enough to drive a man mad. Or, at the very least, drive him to light linen shirts and expensive air conditioning units. Here at Gentleman’s Journal, we’ve been boiling. But we’ve also been cooking up some fun ways to tackle the temperature.
We’ve been switching off our desk fans and taking spins in supercars instead — or wild, wind-in-our-hair powerboats. We’ve been mixing refreshing no-lo cocktails with lunch. Power up: Aston Martin Valhalla
The British carmaker is shifting gears. In its latest electrifying advancement, Aston has unveiled the production model of the Valhalla hybrid hypercar. Based on the Formula 1-influenced Valkyrie, this mean-looking motor has a bespoke 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, 950 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of just 2.5 seconds.
Spinning around: Naim Solstice Special Edition Turntable
Despite sounding out the richest, bassiest tones and tunes for almost 50 years, this is the first time Salisbury-based audio brand Naim has ever created a turntable. The Solstice Special Edition is limited to 500 units; and features a polished aluminium platter, self-calibrating motor drive system and sharp, brutalist design.

You may not need it during the heatwave, but this innovative fire pit from Solo Stove will facilitate your al fresco activities long into autumn. Bottoms up: CleanCo 'Clean T'
With this latest release, CleanCo has cemented its place in the intoxicating alcohol-free industry. With flavours of sweet melon, subtle fruit and oak — as well as welcome hints of olive — this take on tequila packs a flavourful punch; but without the risk of a hangover. Margaritas at the ready gents, because this is an agave-infused delight.
Throw shade: The Bespoke Dudes Eyewear Vicuna Sunglasses
If you hadn’t noticed, we’re experiencing something of a heatwave. And, with all this sun-stoked summer weather, a pair of reliable sunglasses are in order.
