Diary: The Huntsman Tweed Competition crowns its winner

The cream of London award the ultimate prize to a budding designer

A Savile Row Stalwart with nearly two centuries of experience creating bespoke suits for the aristocracy, Hollywood, and even royalty: Huntsman closed its Tweed Competition in style with a lavish lunch at member’s club, 5 Hertford Street.

The Huntsman Tweed Competition, launched last year, sought to find the best tweed design from budding designers over social media. Entrants were asked to design their own Tweed pattern via Instagram. With over 250 hopefuls having entered, it was down to VIP guests during the closing lunch to select the final winner from the shortlist.

The lunch took place on Wednesday 8th March and among the special guests were fashion expert Trinny Woodall, son of the Goldsmith dynasty Ben Goldsmith, and peer and Deputy Chairman of Sotheby’s Lord Dalmeny. For their efforts, the lucky finalist once chosen, would be the recipient of a bespoke Hunstman jacket created in their own winning design.

The winner was eventually named as Mark Lorenzen, who we are sure must be looking forward to wearing his own design created by one of the best and longest running Savile Row establishments around – lucky man.
