It’s almost that time for summer cocktails in the afternoon sun, gents. To set you up for this moment, we bring you our pick of the three cocktail classics, blended with the smooth qualities of whisky, that will help you celebrate this summer in style.
THE ARTIST’S SPECIAL

What you’ll need, – 40ml Monkey Shoulder whisky, – 30ml Amontillado Sherry, – 30ml Lemon Juice, – 30ml Redcurrant syrup, – 10ml egg white, – Soda
Making it, 1. Add ingredients, except the soda, to shaker and shake well with ice., 2. Strain into a glass and top up with a dash of soda for added fizz., 3. Garnish with redcurrants for the finish.
PERRY FIZZ

What you’ll need, – 15ml Monkey Shoulder whisky, – 15mil Pear puree (sweet), – Dash Angostura bitters, – Top with Champagne
Making it, 1. Add ingredients other than champagne to shaker., 2. Shake well with ice then strain into a glass., 3. Top with champagne., 4. Garnish with a slice of pear studded with cloves.
APES & APPLES

What you’ll need, – 45ml Monkey Shoulder whisky, – 4-6 Fresh mint leaves, – 90ml Pineapple Juice
Making it, 1. Smack mint to release flavour, and place in a highball glass., 2. Add Monkey Shoulder, and fill with ice., 3. Top with sparkling apple juice and stir briefly., 4. Garnish with mint sprig.
