Best-Dressed Men Of The Baftas 2015
Words: Alex Woodhall
Last night, February 8th, the Royal Opera House once again played host to the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) Awards. The most prestigious event in the British film calendar, the event, this year hosted by Stephen Fry, attracted the best and brightest of British acting talent.
We’re here to judge the sartorial skills of the attendees, as opposed to their celluloid showings; these are the best-dressed men of the Baftas 2015…
EDDIE REDMAYNE

Quite possibly the best-dressed man on the planet right now, Redmayne’s style is nothing but short of plaudits. No one can wear a velvet jacket quite like this man, and the Theory of Everything star looked every-inch the leading man picking up his Best Actor gong.
DOUGLAS BOOTH

Another Brit who pulls of velvet with the necessary aplomb, Douglas Booth lined up the perfect contrast with a tricky light green blazer juxtaposed with slim, black suit trousers.
SAM CLAFLIN

A stellar night continued for young British style, Riot Club star Sam Claflin was on form in this perfectly fitting tuxedo with accompanying bold u-shaped waistcoat.
LUKE EVANS

Welsh star Luke Evans was almost faultless in this navy tuxedo number; the trousers could have been that little bit neater, but otherwise a strong effort. The patent shoes are particularly commendable.
BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH

By all accounts unlucky to miss out on the top prize for his role in the Imitation Game, Mr Cumberbatch’s traditional tux was however one of the highlights of the night. Not a foot wrong, as they say.
DAVID BECKHAM

The ever-dapper David Beckham, made a presenting appearance at the ceremony and ensured, typically, that all eyes were on him in an impeccable midnight navy, single-buttoned two-piece.
ANDREW SCOTT

Irish actor Scott was one of the picks of the night, style-wise, and another gent who forwent the conventional black option tailoring in favour of a dark navy. Aside from a flash of cuff and a pocket square, this, frankly, couldn’t be improved upon.
MICHAEL KEATON

The veteran actor ensured it wasn’t just all the younger talent stealing the limelight at this showcase. In an on-point tactile, grey double-breasted tuxedo, few were as eye-catching, for all the right reasons, as Birdman star Michael Keaton. The American adopted a different approach to footwear also, favouring a stylish, textured, black tassel loafer.
