Belstaff's OG Jacket gets a Summer makeover

Belstaff ’s Service Field-master jacket arrives in time for your summer jaunts

Ah, life in the UK in the summer! It does have its downsides, the most obvious being the fact that June, July and August usually arrive with a high expectancy that things are going to be rather wet. And in short, that means you’re going to need to have a nifty jacket at arm’s length, all the better to tackle the will-it- won’t-it nature of the Great British weather.

Belstaff’s Service Field- master jacket (in a palatable Tornado Grey) is a modern take on an OG icon. It provides a fresh perspective on the British brand’s existing wax cotton Trialmaster silhouette, which was, and still is, characterised by its unrivalled durability and practicability.

The Trialmaster, the jacket of favour for the likes of bikers Steve McQueen and Ewan McGregor, was created to with- stand the challenging conditions of the Scottish Six Days Trial. Progressive in its design, the Trialmaster’s pre-curved sleeves, pivot armholes, waist belt and neck closure strap ticked the rugged sport boxes.

The new Service Fieldmaster jacket takes those key details into account, but has been made using a 6oz dry waxed cotton. As well as being water-repellent and wind-resistant, its reworked construction means it is still a lot lighter than its predecessor, making it a prime choice for a summer of uncertainty.
