Bandit9’s L-Concept bike is a two-wheeled piece of art
Stripped-back and inspired by the future, make this all-chrome creation your next garage addition
Need to make a purchase to get you through the working week? This is the thing for you. Billed as a vehicle to “push automotive design to new heights and you into the future”, the L-Concept by Ho Chi Minh City-based studio Bandit9 Motors certainly lives up to its moniker, having taken its cues from the world of Sci-Fi.
This stripped-back mechanical sculpture takes minimalism to the extreme. The suspended 125cc air-cooled engine, in all of its curved and elegant glory, is inspired by the USS Enterprise reactor; the simplistic LED grid face (which riffs on HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey) serves as an indicator for turning and braking; the manoeuvre controls are slim and tilted upright, making it feel as though the rider is on a speeder rather than a basic road bike; and the seat, gas tank and cowl are all combined into one striking stainless steel unibody.
So, if you’re after a new two wheeler – or if you’re simply a design or Sci-Fi aficionado – this is a must-buy. However, only nine examples were made and only one remains available, so make sure to act fast.
