5 things we can learn from the Obama-Biden bromance

Tomorrow will see Biden and Obama depart the White House indefinitely, so we take a look back on their friendship

The Obama-Biden friendship is one for the books: two fully grown men who have managed to run the most powerful country in the world, all the while remaining the best of friends and the closest of companions. Obama has described Biden as “the best Vice President America’s ever had” and said that selecting Biden as his Vice was “the best possible choice, not just for me but for the American people.” So, what can we learn from this remarkable bromance?

If there’s one thing we can learn from the Obama-Biden bromance, it’s that there’s nothing effeminate about showing emotion. In fact, last week both men had half of America in tears when Obama granted Biden the highest American honour, the Medal of Freedom. During his address, cited Biden as “the best Vice President America has ever had” which resulted in Biden having to turn his back on the crowd and wipe away his heavy flow of tears.

On Obama’s 55th birthday, Joe Biden presented him with a friendship bracelet and consequently told his 2.49 million followers about the gift. If one thing, other than the epic use of arts and crafts, is proven here it’s that no man should be afraid to present another with a thoughtful, hand-made gift.

Because a friend in need is a friend indeed.

When they weren’t busy running the country, Obama and Biden realised the importance of taking time out and working on their friendship away from the White House. Whether that’s playing golf, grabbing a bite to eat or watching a game of basketball, these guys have shown the world how important a work/life balance truly is.

Over the past 8 years, Obama and Biden have been some through some of the toughest times. During these moments, they have shown the world the importance of sticking by your friends through thick and thin. This heart-warming photo was taken during the funeral of Biden’s son, Beau Biden, after the eulogy.
