5 essential chinos to add colour to your style

It’s time to inject some colour into your spring wardrobe. And a good place to start, are bold-coloured chinos for any occasion...

Whilst sturdy denim is perhaps every gentleman’s friend because of its failsafe qualities, it’s worth investing in a brightly coloured pair of chinos to ensure you stand out from the rest – and really leave a sartorial impression that will have others green with envy.

And if you’re not convinced with a green pair of chinos this summer, don’t worry, as almost any colour (except navy – stay away from navy this summer) would suffice in revamping your casual summer style…

Perfect for daytime events and summer parties, Polo Ralph Lauren’s chinos are designed in a vibrant cranberry hue that’s sure to liven up your trouser arsenal. They’re cut from brushed-cotton twill in a slim shape that’s both smart and comfortable to wear. Pair them with a dress shirt to finesse a preppy look – and slip on a navy or stone blazer for the evenings.

The renowned Jermyn Street shirt makers, Thomas Pink, have continued their attention to detail in these Wyndham Slim Fit chinos. The triangle stitching on the waist is a touch of tailored detail, while the lightweight cotton construction appeals to the need for a flexible range of movement and lightweight feel. We particularly favour their azure blue option, which pairs well with a polo shirt, too.

These twill cotton chinos are slim-fit, and include Orlerbar Brown’s signature waist adjusters for extra comfort, discretely stamped with their logo. Aptly coloured and named ‘Goldstone’, this pair is one of our favourite investments, and perfectly compliments the sunnier days. We advise contrasting the pair with a navy blazer (but truth be told, it’s very hard to go wrong with this pair as it’s plain and elegantly refines almost any summer look).

J.Crew updates its classic cotton-twill chinos with a hint of stretch, making this pair an incredibly comfortable choice for any occasion. They are designed in army-green – an endlessly versatile colour you should consider a neutral – and cut in the label’s slim ‘484’ fit. Wear them cuffed, with driving shoes and a simple t-shirt a nod towards effortless, summer style.

Club Monaco’s clean take on the classics makes them dependable and stylish. Cut slim from stretch-cotton twill, these ‘Connor’ chinos are no exception. There’s no doubt when you wear these, you’ll thank us, gentlemen, because they’ll quickly become your summer favourite.
