The Diary: No.3 Gin launches ‘the ultimate martini glass’ at Langan’s

At Mayfair’s time-tested brasserie and bar, famed bartender Alessandro Palazzi shook up some classic cocktails to celebrate No.3 Gin’s new martini glass…

On Thursday evening, Gentleman’s Journal celebrated the launch of No.3 Gin’s new martini glass with friends and industry experts at Langan’s Brasserie. A collaboration with NUDE Glassware, the British brand’s blue-hued spin on the classic martini glass was developed with scientists to ensure the cocktail remains as cool as possible — a welcome feature for such a warm June evening.

Guests including Eric Underwood, Cyrill Ibrahim and David Evans — aka Instagram’s @greyfoxblog — descended on Langan’s in summer-ready style to enjoy the meticulously mixed martinis. Recently reopened, the Mayfair institution has seen a new surge of life since last autumn; similar to the new lease of life No.3 Gin has given the time-honoured, much-mixed martini.

Also in attendance were rapper Che Lingo, model Hugh Laughton-Scott and actor Luke Newberry, who enjoyed martinis, gin and tonics and canapés created in-house by Langan’s brilliant kitchen staff. Also in attendance were Ross Bryant, ambassador for No.3 Gin, and Dr Junfeng Yang, the professor of thermodynamics who leant his scientific expertise to the pioneering project.
