- Words: Dan Scothern
Each week we present to you some of the best products on the planet. Whether it's timeless footwear or vintage-inspired timepieces, these are the items that you need to shake up your lifestyle for the better...
Floyd - Silverglider Aluminium Suitcase
The future of luggage, the Silverglider from Floyd is the first from the brand to be sculpted from a single piece of aluminium, allowing for a smooth California-inspired aesthetic with no harsh lines or folds, only maximum style and durability. Its internal architecture features two interior compartments in eye-catching orange, while the leather handles on its exterior juxtapose the 85 duro polyurethane skateboard wheels, ensuring your travel wares glide smoothly and silently through the terminal.
IWC - Pilot's Venturer Vertical Drive
One of the most unique releases to come from Geneva's Watches & Wonders this week, the Pilot's Venturer Vertical Drive from IWC is a future-facing piece designed to take the brand out of the stratosphere and into the beyond. The first mechanical watch that has been specifically engineered from the ground up for human spaceflight and timekeeping in space, this white zirconium oxide ceramic and Ceratanium model underwent rigorous testing by IWC's brand partner, Vast, before receiving spaceflight qualification for voyage on Haven-1; soon to be the world's first commercial space station.
Crockett & Jones - Salcombe 2
Crafted with a wholecut design synonymous with simplicity, versatility and ease-of-wear, the Salcombe 2 (a leather-lined version of Crockett & Jones' best-selling plain-front loafer, the Salcombe) is a lightweight and comfortable addition to the warm-weather footwear lineup. Sporting a gum-coloured rubber wedge sole and treated with 'Scotch guard' to ensure impenetrability from any April showers or cocktail spills, this suede model works as effortlessly on the London streets as it does on the sun-soaked riviera.
TUDOR - Black Bay 54
Brand new, and in sapphire blue, the latest Black Bay 54 from TUDOR pays tribute to the brand's history (a nod to the traditional 'TUDOR blue' colourway) while incorporating signature elements of past TUDOR divers' watches. Possibly the most true-to-form Black Bay to have been created thus far, this 37mm piece's vintage-inspired look is amplified by its sunray-brushed dial and matching blue bezel paired with a classic lollipop design on the seconds hand.
Swaine - Whangee Singin' in the Rain Umbrella
Though Colin Firth’s bulletproof variant in Kingsman, and Mary Poppins’ parrot-handled style are understandably in the conversation, we’re confident in saying that it’s Gene Kelly’s model in Singin' in the Rain that is the most iconic umbrella in cinematic history. Immortalised by Kelly’s monsoon moves, this handcrafted piece, created by Brigg (part of Swaine London), has comfortably stood the test of time, with its 8-panel design and textured, whangee bamboo handle and shaft being as admired today as they were in 1952.
Tissot - Gentleman 38mm Automatic
A streamlined upgrade to its predecessor, the Gentleman 40mm, the newly released Gentleman 38mm Automatic offers a new interpretation for everyday sophistication. The reduced case size increases the model's versatility and adaptability, while the silver, black, dark blue, and dark green dial shades allow for individual preference and tonal flavour. Under the hood, we see unrivalled Tissot reliability, with a Powermatic 80 automatic movement, delivering up to 80 hours of power reserve, cementing this piece's reputation as a deserved daily driver.
Loch Lomond - 19-Year-Old Open Course Collection 2026
If last week's Masters has you excited for a strong summer of golf, it's only fitting that you find an appropriate tipple. While Azaleas might suit Augusta, those accustomed to cooler climes might rather reach for a bottle of Loch Lomond's newly released Open Course Collection. Matured for 19 years, and with only 3,000 bottles available worldwide, this limited release celebrates the 154th Open at Royal Birkdale and the brand's long-standing partnership with golf's original championship.
Vacheron Constantin - Historiques American 1921
A roaring twenties icon reimagined, the updated Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 adds playful charm to an understated brand classic. One of Vacheron Constantin's most recognised heritage revivals, this piece, with its 45-degree-rotated dial and unconventional crown placement (designed for motorists to read the time without taking their hands off the wheel) has returned with both 36.5mm and 40mm cases and stylish grained dials. Polished pink gold frames the subtly textured faces, with vivid Arabic numerals and blued 18k gold hands completing this enviable timepiece.
Tracksmith - London Tee
Whether you secured a start-line spot and are deliberating on race-day fits, or getting in the running spirit elsewhere, the pros at Tracksmith never miss when it comes to appropriate kit. This year, its limited-edition London Marathon technical tee evokes the Victorian streetscapes surrounding the brand's London abode (on Chiltern Street), with a jadeite and wine colourway adding some capital city flair to this lightweight mesh piece.
Paul Smith - Havana 'Mellor' Sunglasses
Based around the traditional rectangular lens shape, but with a typical Paul Smith modified and unique look, the Havana 'Mellor' Sunglasses from the eponymous brand are our choice for adding character to the eyewear rotation this year. Made in Italy from premium acetate, these retro specs are akin to the styles donned by a young Michael Caine but with unmistakably recognisable Paul Smith Artist Stripe detailing around the temple tips.
MOSS - Chestnut Nubuck Leather Jacket
Built from a velvety soft 100 per cent nubuck leather, this jacket from MOSS is an effortless top layer for the coming weeks. Workwear-inspired, with a patch pocket and two-way zip, this smooth chestnut brown piece seamlessly elevates more casual springtime ensembles, as well as working perfectly alongside more refined seasonal fits.
Breitling - Navitimer Cosmonaute Artemis II
More than 60 years after becoming the first Swiss wristwatch in space, Breitling has continued its aerospace legacy with its newest release: the Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II. Featuring a striking galaxy-blue meteorite dial, and limited to 450 pieces, this 41mm model is unmistakably eye-catching piece, ideal for those seeking a modern yet characterful style, with undeniable exploration heritage.
Timberland - Classic 2-Eye Boat Shoe
One of the most timeless summer footwear styles, the humble boat shoe has been a preppy stalwart since its creation in 1935. With its distinctive sole siping having been designed to mimic the inventor's dog's paw (and its ability to grip on wet and icy surfaces), the boat shoe remains a firm favourite amongst sailors and Sloane Rangers alike. Timberland has always been a consistent figure in the deck shoe game, and the Classic 2-Eye iteration remains a steady addition to semi-formal and casual summer ensembles.
