Yacht of the Week: Twizzle

Yacht of the Week: Twizzle

Twizzle is a yacht like no other, the 57.5 metre beauty was launched by Dutch yard Royal Huisman in 2011 and puts the focus on fusing technology with incredible design. Designed by Dubois Naval Architects, the custom yacht has a 3.8m minimum draft so she can tuck into shallow anchorages around the world.

The interior of Twizzle is commanding, beautiful and striking and the exterior bold, strong and sleek. You don’t need to take our word for it though, the vessel’s beauty is critically acclaimed. She boasts two ShowBoats Design Awards – one for best interior design and the other for best recreational area. ISS also awarded Twizzle the Best Superyacht Interior Design Award and Best Sailing Yacht Design Award.

Twizzle’s interior comes courtesy of designers Redman, Whitely, Dixon and Todhunter Earle and comfort is the name of the game. The natural tones and stylish decor perfectly balance the acid-washed oak, chocolate-coloured lacquers and the glamorous polished marble in the bathroom. Attention to detail is crucial here: cashmere throws, soft leathers, woven linens and hand-painted silks create a luxurious home away from home feel.

The recreational spaces aboard Twizzle are second-to-none and the main and aft cockpits run seamlessly into the main salon. This creates the feel of a grand indoor-outdoor space for the whole family to lounge around in and enjoy the no doubt incredible views. The upstairs space is where she starts to get truly impressive, and the cruising ketch is designed to excel at all wind speeds and direction, with the sails hoisted in a timely two minutes.
