The Best Home Offices We’ve Ever Seen

As I sit in The Gentleman’s Journal HQ I can’t help but think of what it would be like to have a home office. It’s not that I dislike our office, quite the contrary, but it’s the thought of the long commute home in the rain or the close contact with fellow flustered commuters that really puts a downer on the whole thing. This is why we have compiled this list of the most beautiful home offices around the world, to inspire us all into creating that perfect working haven without ever leaving the comfort of your own home.

DRINKS – 3 Of The Best Wines (That You Can’t Buy In A Supermarket)

Now this is all very well and good, but we understand how overwhelming this can be. Luckily for you, gents, we’ve enlisted Chris Orr (London Wine Week Guru) to lend a helping hand and select 3 of the best wines (that you can’t buy in a supermarket)…

Business – 10 Richest People in Britain

The Sunday Times released their ‘Britain’s Rich List’ this week and it is safe to say it has turned up some interesting results. The amount of billionaires in the UK has risen to more than 100 for the first time ever and our country now has more billionaires per capita than any other country in the world. Of those 104 billionaires they have a combined fortune of £301bn. What’s more, with 72, London has more billionaires than any other city in the world (Moscow is in second with 48). Creator of the list, Philip Beresford, spoke to the BBC, saying “culture, financial services, nice tax regime, good education for their kids and a nice lifestyle where they meet their friends” were among the reasons billionaires were attracted to the UK.

Cars – Ford Mustang at 50

50 is a milestone for a gentleman. It’s the age when people not only acknowledge but also respect your opinion, the age to seriously consider that Antarctic cruise you’ve been pondering and, more importantly, the age when you can legitimately purchase a sportscar under the age-old guise of a ‘mid-life crisis’. If, like us at The Gentleman’s Journal, you’ve given this some serious thought, then look no further as may have found you the perfect partner in crime.

Film – Dawn of the Planet of the Apes The Exciting New Trailer

The new trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has been released, and the exciting release depicts man versus ape in an epic battle for survival. The new film stars Gary Oldman, Andy Serkis and Keri Russell and features shots of an apocalyptic North America. As the sequel to 2011’s The Rise of the Planet of the Apes, starring James Franco and Freida Pinto, this film sees scientists accidentally creating advanced primates and spreading a virus fatal to humans. The film is loosely based on the 1972 film Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. The growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. With impressive graphics, tense music and wide spanning shots – this is certainly a film that we’re excited about.

Whether it’s for business or pleasure, long-haul or short, travelling can play havoc with your appearance. Luckily enough, slowly but surely some of our favourite grooming brands are catching on to the importance of travel grooming and the rising number of people who no longer bother at all with anything other than carry-on luggage, with companies stepping up to make the art of manoeuvring an on-board bag through security just a little bit easier.
