The Gentleman’s Journal went to see furniture maker, businessman and shop keeper David Linley. Born into the Royal family, Linley is the son of the Princess Margaret and renowned photographer, Lord Snowdon. Linley spoke to us about starting a business, recession, the web and the future of his brand.
New Balance was launched in 1906 when a waiter in Boston, Mr William Riley, developed arch supports for people who worked on their feet all day. By 1928, Mr Riley had developed his first running shoe, and from there New Balance has grown into a global footwear phenomenon. Today this cult american footwear is still renowned for its high-performance trainers that don’t compromise on style. This limited edition celebrates 30 years of manufacturing in the UK and features a tartan textile lined inner, the unique cushioned sole and gold lace plates.
This limited edition damson infused vodka from London distillers, Sipsmith, is the only product of its kind on the market. They have created a well balanced and delicious flavoured vodka, that is both good on its own, and when mixed in a winter cocktail. We recommend trying the Damson Royal, half a measure of Sipsmith Damson Vodka mixed with a glass of sparkling wine or champagne.
Raffles Members club was in full festive swing last night. Toasting the opening of Winter Wonderland they threw an after party with a dress code of Christmas jumpers. Archie Norman and Charlie Laurie took to the decks remixing some old school classics, while Arabella Holland, Alexandra Townsend-Rose and Jemima Cadbury came up with their own dance routine…… all we can say is very interesting. Made in Chelsea’s Richard Dinan chatted away to club owner Sachin Khanna and Toby Speak, Sam Biker and Harry De La Rue kept the drinks flowing from their table in the corner. Golly what festive fun and it’s still only November!
