Z Zegna upgrade their SS18 collection with tech

Regatta-inspired, weather-proof and ultra-breathable, Z Zegna are looking to the future

It’s 2017, and at a technological high, it’s becoming increasingly important for our clothing not to only fit us well, but to perform in an order which will make our increasingly busy lifestyles easier.

Forget sweating through your shirt on a hot summer’s day, or feeling a breeze through your jacket, Z Zegna are revolutionising the modern wardrobe with the use of the highly innovative fibre, Techmerino.

Techmerino is a blend of merino wool and the world’s most sophisticated processing and finishing techniques. It’s ultra-breathable, water resistant and temperature controlling- everything the modern man needs to enhance his increasingly active day-to-day lifestyle.

This advancement has allowed for the brand to create a merino wool-based suit that is not only comfortable and exquisitely fitted, but one which is easily machine washable at home with quick drying fibres. It’s tailoring on a whole new level.

“Versatile, trans-seasonal and easy care: techmerino is the fabric for all men, for all occasions” Z Zegna, 2017

The SS18 collection has been heavily inspired by the vintage aesthetics of sailing regattas. Deep ocean blues are paired with martime-inspired yellows and subtle whites in a traditional nod to the sailing community, but the collection has also been suitably modernised with the addition of gun metal greys and matte black accessories.

Overall, the collection has successfully combined contemporary Italian style with active-wear, creating not only a line which is trans-seasonal, but one that is at the forefront of technological advancement. You can’t get more modern than that.
