Inside the stunning multi-million dollar yacht, Rasselas

Elegant, luxurious - and yours for $17.5m

Here’s a question: How, in 2017, when superyachts are getting progressively bigger, brasher and shinier, can they hold onto their gentlemanly reputation? Answer – by effortlessly combining luxury, comfort and class. In other words – or word – Rasselas.

Opulence, stylistic flair and a powerful cruising performance are all qualities any discerning gentleman should demand from his super yacht – and Rasselas has them all. So with this in mind, let’s explore this boat of boats – newly docked on the sales market.

Born from the mother of all shipyards, the Feadship DeVries in the Netherlands in 1994, the Rasselas is a product of a true super yacht institution – and a bespoke, original and timeless addition to the high seas.

Comprising a full displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure with teak decks, she is built to Lloyds Register and LMC Classification society rules. Structured to perfection, if you are to take the plunge and buy this beauty of a boat, you can be sure you are buying a bona fide super yacht.

Rasselas is not content with simply measuring an impressive 171 feet, or being able to reach a cruising speed of 16 knots. Instead, the present owners have put her through a rigorous redesign before this resale to ensure that she is as beautiful as she is powerful. A complete overhaul inside and out has been carried out by renowned super yacht designer John Munford and exterior design and engineering specialists De Voogt. Now, with rich wooden interiors to structurally refurbished flawlessness on the outside, Rasselas is setting a new standard for luxury yachts and their owners everywhere.

For longer travels, her 78,700 litre fuel tanks permits a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, with impressive fresh water reserves allowing you to take her to the high seas for a real adventure. Powered and propelled through the waves by two caterpillar diesel engines and twin screw propellers, she is capable of both a sprint and a steady cruise.

Rasselas boasts five cabins, including a master suite, two double cabins, and two twins accommodating up to 12 guests without compromising on either comfort or privacy. With a super yacht of this standard, its not surprising that it can also provide room for up to 13 members of crew – across six cabins.

Rasselas is not for the faint-hearted, or the shallow-pocketed. But it is for a gentleman with style.
