Wishlist: Whisky tea, overcoats, B&O headphones and more

From a sleek suitcase to some sparkling water, this is what we want this week...

If you’re on the market for some new noise-cancelling earphones, then look no further than Bang & Olufsen’s BeoPlay E4. When it comes to aesthetics, not many can trump the Danish brand’s design creds. With a matte black finish and stainless steel buds that don’t feel too bulky in your ears, this particular pair have the premium feel that’s expected from B&O.

And once you’re plugged-in, you’ll be far removed from your surroundings. Offering a balanced sound and flawless noise-cancelling capabilities, the E4 is the ideal tool to drown out all exterior noise pollution when commuting in the morning.

Reiss’ A/W collection has just dropped, and there are plenty of sartorial goods to choose from. For something that’ll slip seamlessly over your work gear but will also smarten-up most off-duty ensembles, opt for this timeless wool coat. Better still, the herringbone twill material will ensure you’re properly insulated from the harsh British winter.

Sleek design, zipper-free, silent wheels and a hidden USB charger: this isn’t just your average suitcase. Crafted by Arlo Skye, – the company helmed by a pair of former Louis Vuitton and Tumi execs – the Carry-On is the perfect solution for short-haul flights as it straddles both style and practicality.

The anodised aluminium-alloy shell is the type of material you’d expect to find on luggage with much higher price tags; the inbuilt battery pack fast-charges your gadgets up to five times and is removable and rechargeable, making it perfect for both the airport and hotel; and the clasp closures eliminate any worries about torn seams or damaged zippers. The only thing you have to fret about is which colour you want it in – Penguin black, Sardine silver or Champagne.

This eatery is the closest you’ll get to El Bulli. Helmed by three of its former head chefs, Disfrutar, meaning “to enjoy”, is a reminder of the mothership and is currently making waves in Barcelona’s culinary scene. And it’s easy to see why as dishes of pure gastronomic magic are fired rapidly from the kitchen in order to ensure that diners are given an overwhelming date with their senses. Expect transparent carbonara, beetroot meringues and edible cotton that guests handpick from branches. Buen provecho.

We can’t all have a self-portrait à la Dorian Gray in order to preserve our youth and good health. But we’ve found something that may be a worthy substitute. Inspired by Acciaroli – an Italian village in which 10 per cent of its residents live to the age of 100 due to the locals’ penchant for consuming rosemary – and comprising of just two ingredients (pure rosemary botanical extract and pure spring water), this bottle of aquatic goodness is hailed by experts and academics as a possible key to a longer, healthier life.

Rich in heritage, quality and craftsmanship, both whisky and tea are time-honoured beverages which have gained worldwide popularity throughout the years. And for those who are aficionados of both drinks, you’ll be pleased to hear that the guys at Tomatin have fused this unlikely pair together.

Inspired by Far Eastern traditions, this special concoction is based around tea leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant (a blank canvas that has an extraordinary ability to absorb flavours and aromas over time) which have been aged in ex-Bourbon barrels from the Tomatin distillery. The result? A smoky and fruity beverage which is unique and mellow in taste. Moreover, as a non-alcoholic drink, it’s the perfect mixer for some seriously flavourful cocktails.

The Monolith, which pays homage to the towering machines in 2001: A Space Odyssey, will not only track your water consumption in order to provide recommendations and reminders to stay hydrated, but will also order new canisters when levels are low.

Moreover, this stripped-back, stylish matte-black tower has an in-built loading system at its base, adjusts cooling temperatures accordingly and features a magnetic valve which prevents any spills and splashes. So, for those looking to invest in an unconventional piece of tech for their home office, this should be top of your list.
