The Gentleman’s Journal cover star joins Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning in the new series

A new psychological thriller drama, The Alienist, is the latest television series we’re all bound to binge. Set in 1896, the show sees Theodore Roosevelt bring in famed criminal psychologist, Dr Laszlo Kreizler – played with dark sincerity by Brühl – to solve a series of gruesome murders.

Teaming up with newspaper illustrator John Moore – played by Luke Evans – and a police secretary played by Dakota Fanning, the series is based on the novel of the same named by Caleb Carr – and will launch on the TNT network later this year.

Brühl stars on the current cover of Gentleman’s Journal, in an exclusive interview in which he speaks openly about being typecast as a Nazi, EU politics and Brexit.
