The Diary: Gentleman’s Journal x Wilderness 2019

Friends of Gentleman’s Journal turned out in force for our party at Wilderness festival

How do you get the UK’s hottest young actors and entrepreneurs in one place at the same time? Simple, invite them to Wilderness 2019. The lure of the boutique Oxfordshire festival proved too hard to resist for the likes of James Norton, Laura Whitmore, Tuppence Middleton and Dougie Poynter, who all joined Gentleman’s Journal for some serious revelry last weekend.

Day two of the festival kicked off with a Veuve Clicquot-fuelled garden party where guests basked in the British sunshine and limbered up with some dancing before trying their hand at limbo. It was then inside for a five-course feasting menu, featuring dishes such as vine leaf ravioli with chicken shawarma and freekeh and baked broccoli, tomato salsa and almond flakes, devised by chef Yossi Elad, former head chef of The Palomar.

After a brief pause to allow for costume changes, it was back into the thick of Wilderness for much dancing and merriment late into the night to the sounds of main stage headliners Caravan Palace, Robyn and The Spectacle.
