The navy dinner suit has seen a resurgence in popularity thanks to Hollywood’s best – as seen at the 2017 Oscars, and has quickly established itself as a timeless necessity, not only for the red carpet.
Josh Kaye looked immaculate in Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello where the contrast satin black peak lapel leaned towards modern sophistication. And both Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano looked just as suave in shawl lapel navy dinner suits. Bravo, gentlemen – we’re taking black, shawl-lapelled inspiration.

Whilst the dinner suit dominated the red carpet during the week-long festival, myriad photocalls and daytime premiers meant A-listers like Jeremy Renner had to perfect their summer suiting style.
So gentlemen, quite literally follow suit by losing the tie, and instead opting for a chambray cotton shirt, cotton or linen suit and colours that will compliment the Mediterranean, not the office.
