For the person who has everything, a historic 1950s Cooper racing car will be on sale from Paul Smith’s No. 9 Albemarle Street shop as the ultimate Christmas gift.

Built in 1953 by the famed British car company, the Cooper MkVII Twin is a completely original Formula 2 racing car with a fully documented racing history.

The Cooper MkVII is eligible for the finest international historic racing and hill climb events. As an original and race-ready car, the new owner will not only be purchasing a unique part of British motor racing history, they will also gaining entry to the exclusive and exciting world of historic car racing.

For historic motoring enthusiasts, the car has a number of rare and unique features including an original J.A.P. 1100VTwin engine (only 23 were made) along with a Norton ‘Dolls Head’ gearbox containing ‘Manx’ gears.

The MkVII is the same model driven by British racing icons such as Sir Stirling Moss. This rare machine stands as a landmark step in the story of Cooper, as the fledgling company progressed to becoming multiple world champions and a leading name in motor racing.

The connection between Cooper and Paul Smith is longstanding, as Paul has produced a number of limited edition Mini Cooper cars.The first Paul Smith Mini was launched in 1998 and limited to 1,800 cars worldwide, with a colour scheme inspired by one of Paul’s favourite shirts. Next, the Signature Stripe Mini featured twenty-eight unique colours and went on to become a design icon in its own right.
