The summer sale worth knowing about

Trust us on this one, gentlemen

The responsibility of being a gentleman is huge. Maintaining incredible style; impeccable manners; a luxurious lifestyle and a successful business all come with a host of problems, with cost pretty firmly at the top of the list. The thing that gets a lot of men into trouble, then, is that it’s imperative to spend your entire pay check on a suit in order to maintain your style.

While worthy investments are important, a gentleman should always be smart when it comes to the cost of his clothes, never avoiding the high street or the pieces that are sitting right in front of him. The high street is an amazing place; filled with brands who care about their product and the cost that they come at.

Step in Ted Baker, the brand who give you everything from a perfectly cut t-shirt to an affordable but achingly stylish suit, at a price that won’t burn a hole in your back pocket. A brand who have been dressing all kinds of gentlemen – very successfully – for years. Founded in 1988 by Ray Kelvin with what started out as a shirt shop in Glasgow where gentlemen could have their clothes laundered, has now turned into a brand worth more than £700m. Ted Baker himself is fictitious, but his brand is quirky, unique and managed to get itself entirely off the ground without any kind of advertising (and still doesn’t today).

It all began with one shirt, a piece that was designed in the late 80s in the era of Acid House, where bright colours and patterns were the norm and saw gentlemen queuing around the corner every single Saturday outside Ted’s stores. Since then the brand has expanded massively, with over 300 stores worldwide and a Head Office team that has stayed the majority the same since the brand’s establishment.

Ted Baker are different. They are bold without being over-the-top and wearable without being mundane. Versatility is what this quintessentially British brand does best and we guarantee you that no investment will go amiss – this is a brand that you will be wearing for years and years to come, trust us.
