Go up in the world with this apartment in New York’s historic Soho

Rising high above New York’s historic SoHo neighbourhood, this is 565 Broome

‘Impressive’ is an objective word. Some people are underwhelmed by everything in life; others can be bowled over by a good cup of coffee. But we challenge anybody to say that 565 Broome Soho, a new residential project in New York City, is anything but impressive.

Towering 30 stories above the historic neighbourhood of SoHo, this is the first NYC project of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano — who, other than having a striking name, has also managed to design one of the most distinct high-rise residences in a city famed for its architecture.

So, if making it to Manhattan as a professional, working with the rest of the high-flyers Downtown, wasn’t already impressive enough, then imagine taking your friends back to a condo at 565 Broome. Mind-stretching views of the city skyline, historic SoHo and the Hudson River can be seen through the curved, iron glass facade. And it’s just as impressive inside.

"We challenge anybody to say that 565 Broome Soho, a new residential project in New York City, is anything but impressive..."

Piano partnered with Parisian interior design firm RDAI, and Italian developers Bizzi on crafting the luxurious residences, who have relied heavily on the materials of stone, white oak, glass and concrete to give a solid, but sophisticated, feel throughout.

It’s the kind of flat where you could return after a long day at work, and spend your entire evening unwinding with a cold beer in hand, simply staring out of the window. Of course, that’s not how everyone relaxes, and if you’re more of an active type, the 55-foot indoor swimming pool, fitness centre with spa, sauna and steam rooms and gym will help you thrash out your troubles — all with the same cinematic view.

Other bonuses include a beautifully-landscaped outdoor terrace, private gated driveway and entrance with automated parking. Not to forget the 24-hour concierge, library and a lounge with 92-foot ceilings. Impressed yet?

If not, then prepare yourself. The pièce de résistance, the cherry-on-top if you will, sits similarly atop 565 Broome. The Penthouses is a living space to rival all others in New York, with its double-height rooms, private elevator and breathtaking 360 degree city views. Add to that floor-to-ceiling windows, heated floors and custom-eat in kitchens and you’ve got premier living in New York prime real estate.

Oh, and did we mention the private roof terrace with a 20-foot heated outdoor pool? Impressed yet? You should be.
