Why Luca Faloni’s linen bomber jacket will be your best friend all spring and summer
Available in a trio of versatile colourways and incredibly light to the touch, this is a warm-weather staple worth getting to know
For more than a decade, Luca Faloni has been crafting some of the very finest wardrobe essentials available today, becoming particularly revered for its selection of luscious cashmere knits, versatile piqué-cotton polos and wear-anywhere chinos. For spring and summer, the Italian menswear label has added a new warm-weather must-have to its roster of staples: a linen bomber jacket.
Produced from a premium blend of 70 per cent cotton and 30 per cent linen, and handcrafted in one of the oldest mills in Italy, this timeless piece has a lightweight, breathable feel that’s perfect for those in-between days when the temperature is dialled up, but a gentle breeze kicks in every so often.
Moreover, because of its lack of heft and bulk, it can be easily stowed away in a holdall or backpack, or simply carried in hand, making it an ideal travel companion when heading out of town for a long weekend.

In terms of design, the jacket is pared-down so that the materials can speak for themselves, and is available in a trio of neutral colourways (sand, midnight blue and nocciola brown) – the result is that each option is versatile enough to pair with a wide array of items. If needing to be dressed up, we recommend teaming it with a Classic Shirt in Oxford cotton and some pleated trousers; for a more casual look, layer it over a linen jersey T-Shirt.
Moreover, to imbue the piece with extra vibrancy, the fabric from which it’s made has been yarn-dyed, a process known for creating strong finishes.

As with all Luca Faloni pieces, care and consideration has also gone into the smart, discreet detailing. Notably, the bomber is lined with premium copper cloth; butter-soft goatskin suede leather inserts are located at the rear collar and in the internal pockets; and there are single button cuffs. However, perhaps best of all is the fact that it’s fronted by a full double-ended zip that allows the wearer to adjust the openness accordingly – a nifty feature that both elevates the jacket’s comfort level and dials up its easy-breezy spirit even further.
