London Fashion Week Men’s: Oliver Spencer tackles the Great British Summer

Last Friday, eponymous men’s designer brand Oliver Spencer answered all of your ‘spring summer’ style concerns in one fell – and sartorially sound – swoop.

With a collection designed to fit perfectly into the notoriously changeable British summertime, the show celebrated the multiculturalism of our beloved capital through the diversity of the models on the catwalk and showcased our indomitable and uplifting spirit. Any man can carry the Oliver Spencer look with his head held high, and both the clothes and show were a testament to this.

An ultra-wearable collection, consisting of mixed separates in dusty pinks, navies and light blues paired with subtle stripes and gingham checked shirts, this was traditional fare reinvigorated with modern styling cues. Collars were mostly non-existent, providing that much-needed sense of relief from those sticky summer days in the city, and there wasn’t a sock in sight.

Many outfits were, however, accompanied by lightweight parkas – because if you’ve ever experienced a British summer, you’ll be more than aware of the unexpected cloudbursts coming your way. Oliver Spencer has provided for the modern-day gentleman, across the years and seasons and tailoring clothes both traditional and pioneering for the purposes of style and practicality.

Understanding the very British need for layering, but trying to keep things cool at the same time, this is a fashion house who truly understand the way British men think, and there is nothing more appealing than that in a label.
