Inside the Cartier Racing Awards 2017

All of the photos from the world’s most prestigious racing awards

Last night, the European horse racing community flocked to The Dorchester in hope of picking up one of the sport’s most coveted prizes at the 27th Cartier Racing Awards, co-hosted by Cartier managing director Laurent Feniou and the Hon. Harry Herbert.

Dubbed the Oscars for European horse racing, the awards ceremony is a calendar highlight for jockeys, owners and racing enthusiasts alike. Notable winners included Ulysses who copped the prize for “Cartier Older Horse” and Harry Angel who received the title of “Cartier Sprinter”.

It was, however, Enable that picked up the most prestigious gong of the evening, “The Cartier Horse of the Year”. The three-year-old British Thoroughbred, ridden by Frankie Dettori, pipped Cracksman, Ribchester and Ulysses to the honour, and was also named “Top Three-Year-Old Filly”.
